Wheels

Not much to report, really.  Progress on the Furybird has been slow to non-existent.  However, I have made this:

It is, of course, a wheel truing stand for bike wheels.  Apart from the fork legs, which I butchered from a cheap steel fork from eBay, it’s all home made.  The distance between the fork legs is adjustable, and it has two DTIs to measure lateral run-out and roundness.  Still needs some tweaking, but I’m hoping it’ll be rather good in practice.

The DTI measuring run-out is on a two-way adjustable mount (height and lateral distance) which is spring loaded – press on the end of the ali mount and the DTI pivots out of the way, allowing the wheel to be removed and put back without needing to reset the DTI.

Just got to make a home-made wheel dishing guide next.  Oh, and I’ll provide a proper Furybird update soon.  Promise…
